Rosalind Noctor

Ilan Lev Method

My name is Rosalind, and I have a background in contemporary dance and creative arts. I am currently finishing my advanced training in the Ilan Lev Method at the International School in Poland and have been treating for the past 4 years.

My journey with ILM began after many years of receiving treatments as a dancer and performer, and I immediately felt a deep connection to its healing effects. I am particularly interested in how this method can bridge conscious and subconscious healing.

I treat from my home space in South East, London and at Centre 151.

The Ilan Lev method works towards improving human capabilities and removing functional difficulties. It also treats motor dysfunction, mental limitations and solves issues concerning physical disabilities or handicaps.

Monica Giacomin

THAI MASSAGE

Monica is a Movement Educator, Thai Masseuse and Movement Artist. Her passion and curiosity for the moving body has taken her from the performing arts to healing practices. Over the years she has developed her own holistic approach to movement and bodywork, her aim is to support the body’s innate intelligence, it’s natural propensity for balance and healing. Her massage style is slow and intuitive allowing the body-mind of the receiver to access a deeper state of relaxation and connection to self. From this place of groundedness healing can unfold.

She qualified as remedial Pilates Instructor in 2007 at Trinity Laban Pilates Studio and subsequently trained as Thai Massage Therapist in 2012 with The London School of Thai Massage, and later on with Master Pichest Boonthumme (Chiang Mai, Thailand). She has studied Fascial Anatomy for Movement with Gary Carter of Natural Bodies (2013).

She teaches Contact Improvisation and creative movement for children and adults.

I first discovered Thai massage in Chiang Mai in 2005.  I knew immediately on the first day of my course at the Old Medicine Hospital that this was exactly what I was looking for, what I wanted to practice and what I wanted to be good at.  Since that time I’ve been dedicated to studying more and more.  I return to Thailand every year to see my teachers.  Sometimes I take the same course 3 times in order to catch all the subtle details that will create a good massage.

My main teachers have been:
Sinchai Sukparset, Mr Nat, Arno L’Hermitte, Felicity Joy Keebaugh and Ralf Marzen.

FUNCTIONAL INTEGRATION (student practitioner)

ConnectingVibes, 2007

Charlotte Seirberg is a movement educator and mindfulness teacher with over 11 years experience. She is also Feldenkrais Practitioner (student teacher), and she is currently in the process of completing the hands-on aspect of the 4-year Feldenkrais training called Functional Integration®.

Functional Integration®

Feldenkrais® individual sessions are called Functional Integration®. The practitioner guides you using gentle, none-invasive touch as a way of communicating with you and your nervous system. You will get a sense of how you organise your body and actions/movements. Together we will explore your movement habits and discover new possibilities, which can be more efficient, comfortable and useful to you.

This is an embodied learning process, with an emphasis on rapport and respect for your abilities, qualities and integrity. Together we create a mindful learning environment, where you can learn in safety and comfort. In the session, you will be fully clothedeither in sitting, standing or lying on a mat. Small props will be used to ensure your comfort or to make a movement easier, or to bring more clarification to a particular movement.

After a session, you may noticed that unnecessary tension has been dissolved. Another discovery could be you are feeling more grounded, calmer and happier, perhaps you are breathing more fully which makes you

feel less anxious. Saying that you may be going about your daily activities, performance or work with more ease, lightness and joy.

Who is it for?Individual lessons are for anyone wishing to recover physical abilities, ease stress, tension and anxiety, find relief from chronic pain and fatigue, restore mobility, refine movement skills, improve breathing and posture.

ACUPUNCTURE

I always resonated with ancient medicinal systems andphilosophical views of integrative and preventative health. My travels led me to explore different approaches and natural practices through yoga, Thai massage, and Chinese Medicine, which assisted me in my physical and mental well-being and helped me achieve balance and presence in a fast-paced world.

I believe in addressing the root cause of a condition and not limiting the healing process to the symptoms. Health is often in our hands, and we can do our best to become aware of the first signs of a disbalance and try to address those before they become rooted in our bodily systems. I work with an individual’s physical, emotional and psychological aspects, genuinely helping people to achieve well-being and bringing awareness of their body and mind. I incorporate different techniques that come from my studies and training.

Over ten years of clinical practice, I have enhanced my knowledge and understanding of chronic pain management for various musculoskeletal conditions and mental health, including sleep disturbances, stress, and anxiety.

  • BSc (Hons) Traditional Chinese Medicine, Lincoln College, Lincoln

  • Electroacupuncture for musculoskeletal problems, College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading, UK

  • Acupuncture for Assisted Conception and IVF

FOCUSED BODYWORK
20190311_175127

Just as we as individuals are an expression of location, experience, upbringing and inherent nature, “focused bodywork” is an expression of the things I have learned about bodywork and healing over time. Especially the things that resonate for me and my clients.

I discovered the world of bodywork through a knee injury, which much much later, I found out began in my hip! Conventional methods of therapy only worked in the short term, so I began to get to know my body through various sports, dancing and yoga. Yoga helped me to understand the injury and improve it, slowing learning and feeling how I inhabit my body. Years later, with an insatiable yoga appetite and curiosity for how my body workeed, I trained as a Sivananda yoga teacher and since then have been learning how to work with the body.

The various bodywork techniques I use have been acquired over the years through professional training and continued professional development (CPD). Some of them include Holistic Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Kahuna Hawaiian, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Thai yoga, Neuroskeletal Re-alignment therapy, Core Fascial Release, Deep Abdominal Colon Massage and, Mirimiri and Romiromi (some elements of Maori Bodywork and healing). The learning process is ongoing. My experiences in study, life and with clients encourage me to see the presentation dis-ease in an individual as an interesting interplay between the body mind and spirit.

I enjoy giving deep meditative massages as much as working with injuries and alignment. I strongly believe in every body’s ability to change and improve and heal. So tell me, what brings you here today? What would you like us to work on together?

Mario De Sousa is a Traditional Japanese Shiatsu Therapist in methods of Namikoshi and Seiki Meridian Shiatsu, also has qualification in traditional Thai Yoga & Trigger points massage.

Healing happens when the mind and body are connected to each other and to our own inner healing force.  I have found that Shiatsu is a powerful tool to activate the communication between mind, body and spirit; helping us to reach our equilibrium and natural alignment.  Shiatsu can help facilitate health, wellbeing and balance by harnessing the true power to heal: a force which always rests within you.

Stuart Thomas

TUI NA

stuart-thomas

Stuart has been inspired by and explored how Martial Arts and Dance integrate for over 20 years. He is a teacher of Contemporary Dance as well as second generation Soul Jazz and his teaching follows the road of ‘old school’ to progressive styles, creating his own unique style of Martial Dance Fusion.

He was intuitively drawn into Dance upon discovering that its focus on strength and grace in movement helped him decipher the anatomical machinations of the body. As a result, in his twenties he embarked upon a journey to train in Tai Chi, which culminated in his earning a rank of Group A Instructor from the Canton Martial Committee.

In 2003 he began exploring Body-Mind-Healing including Tuina Therapeutic Massage and Thai Yoga Massage. Martial Arts and Dance are the culmination and evolution of Stuart’s extensive training in his practice and teachings. Stuart is now also a highly sought after instructor of Dance and Tai Chi fist – two of the most practiced Martial Arts and Dance forms.

“I travel to China every year to study tui na massage. I stay in Hangzhou. My favourite thing is waking up at dawn and heading to the park where all the older people do tai chi. There’s a feeling everybody’s healing themselves; it’s amazing. Afterwards, I’ll go to a cafe and buy this omelette-type delicacy filled with sweet syrup. Oh man, it’s good.”
