OSTEOPATHY

Christa is an osteopath with a background in dance and over ten years’ experience working with clients through movement and yoga.

Following a Masters degree The British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London, she moved to New York City where she founded the perinatal yoga service, YogaSpine, helping mums in the community cope with the physical stresses of pregnancy.

Christa enjoys educating her patients on the why’s and the how’s of their injuries and conditions. She complements hands-on treatments with functional movement, helping her patients play a greater part in their own path to recovery. She believes that the key to optimal health involves understanding how to make good lifestyle choices every day.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE & STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION

Eva is a qualified soft tissue therapist with a background in dance and yoga.  She is passionate about helping clients find awareness of their body to move effortlessly, breath easily, and to have a pain and injury free life.  She works with myofascial release and somatic exercises to ease and reset the connective tissue in the body, extend range of movement and give a sense of alignment and integration.

As well as being a qualified sports massage therapist, Eva is also a vinyasa flow yoga teacher and has studied thai massage, myofascial release, and structural integration.  Her sessions are a mixture of movement analysis and body reading, bodywork, and somatic exercises.

This session takes place on a massage table in underwear or a swim suit.

THAI YOGA MASSAGE & PREGNANCY MASSAGE

Rachel started her professional Thai massage practice in 2004. Over time, tuning into her own natural rhythm she has developed a slow, fluid and steady style. Her treatments act like a physical form of meditation for both giver and receiver; an opportunity to slow down, helping to ground an over-active mind common in our busy lives.

The beauty of Thai massage is that it brings clients back into their body and away from unhelpful, repetitive thought patterns. The treatment encourages a flow of energy through the body. The therapist uses pressure from hands, thumbs, elbows, knees and feet in combination with gentle rocking, deep stretches and stillness.

Rachel works with a variety of clients including pregnant women (pre and post-natal), people with general stiffness and those dealing with energetic and emotional issues, including anxiety and depression.

SHIATSU

I came to Shiatsu through an interest in oriental health practices and energy work which started at the Shaolin Temple in London.

My two great passions as a holistic therapist, Shiatsu and Health Qigong are ways of experiencing life consciously and to radiate this from within.

I provide treatments, guidance and advice geared towards stimulating your vital strength and health. I will not heal you or bring you to a higher level of consciousness. You already have these powers within yourself. I am giving you support when you need it.

Just as an example, Abdominal Hara Shiatsu is deeply relaxing and assists the body and mind to reach a balance, and this in turn is thought to affect the balancing of the endocrine system (hormones).

This treatment is an advanced and specialised massage which uses several different techniques, and is focused exclusively on the abdomen and lower back/sacrum. This therapy is gentle, but still a deep, massage which is designed to help improve the circulation to the abdomen and in turn aiding blood flow and reducing internal ligament/muscle tension.

Our abdomen is full of various organs, ligaments, blood vessels, nerves etc which all work together. However, if any of these are misaligned they will have an impact on the rest which can create its own region of problems.
